A naturally decorated calm, quiet natural haven

The house has been the inspiration for Gina Lazenby's book "The Healthy Home" and is wonderful experiment in how to create a modern interior with the minimum of chemicals and hardly any disturbance from electro-magnetic fields. These are some of the greatest sources of environmental stress so the experience of living here is of being in a calm, quiet natural haven.  In 2005, a new wing was opened to host retreats and workshops. The unusual floor to ceiling windows give spectacular views over the Airedale valley and although it is a brand new building it looks old and original because of the use of reclaimed local stone and tiles.

Hundreds of years of rural history

The Healthy Home is a beautiful old country house on a remote hilltop in the Yorkshire Dales, just 5 minutes from a train service to London via the city of Leeds.  The scenery is breathtaking and everything about the property has been designed to renew the spirit and nourish the senses. The original house is a two-up, two-down crofter's cottage, over 350 years old with one section dating back probably 1000 years, and the attached barn was converted from a shelter for cows to a nurturing human habitat in 1999.

Sacred Geometry & Feng Shui make it a feel-good place

Apart from how it looks in its setting, a great deal of energy has been put into how the house feels. The use of sacred geometry and feng shui is just one factor in it being a magnificent sacred space. In fact Gina & the Healthy Home co-founder Morel Fourman, have poured over a decade of loving care into the house which is absolutely palpable in every room. Visitors have come from all over the world and nobody ever wants to leave because it feels so good. The house itself is built on a hill so has ended up with 6 different levels and has very interesting feng shui.

The garden is an oasis on the hillside landscape

The garden is a paradise for local wildlife and each year, since the large pond was created, more and more migrating birds get wind of this special sanctuary and add it to their favourite places to visit. Depending on the season you might see red-legged partridges, pheasants, finches, robins, hares, ducks and rabbits all coming to the kitchen door looking for food. Gina is considering taking 'Doolittle' as her middle name. In this remote location there are few human neighbours - just sheep and cows on the other side of the ancient, hand-crafted stone
